7 T& R0 H% c! DFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
* h V. V* o9 {9 @whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
9 v% S2 v- _# I, y, yartists from Northern Alberta.

& Q- x5 {* t" `3 s: sFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 I& M9 k# ?( y7 y& @- qemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) i4 o0 d2 e5 d8 @' J% oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% X6 J! _7 k% y: `# iresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / C3 _. g* Q+ V! s$ a0 v5 |
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

4 z1 d S Y! k4 I# V# v4 OJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) |" n; Z: f' Z2 F- X
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by % q; Z9 Z" G' T+ e
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
/ K$ w. p3 t/ N6 x* E- Assist with research on acquisition grants
$ }) W2 J l' \. d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities & K2 G0 U, p& f3 d
- Assist with equipment maintenance
: ~8 R2 W5 q- C+ b- Assist with production logistics for programming events ( J2 X* ]; W( H: x
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 1 i0 f& D. {2 A& Y$ m2 b E- y2 G; q; F
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 7 D ?' b9 D& _( D: ^" `" A9 q; U
- Advance organizational and research skills
9 e2 S: G: m7 m/ L! t) k+ q- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 7 G0 \2 ]7 U: Q3 F' N
- Strong team player abilities
1 Q1 l: V+ U8 O( m- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors " ^: U2 ^1 a! _9 ^
