support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern # a! }, |( `) K- A% \

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from : d) [+ X6 [; k" Y8 N$ z* n3 q
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
# k- H4 g" N& ^3 qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 }! T0 a" Z) {. P& y3 o3 X0 X0 K
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 3 n3 a2 y1 E3 J( S/ d1 W8 j
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

" Q" X i/ C8 I. ?0 G2 aJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
; D. N" ]3 z" u* A7 Z$ j. DFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
+ {7 c2 Q _! u. D% z5 l: Y' Y# k0 vwell as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 ^2 J6 k/ y/ y. I& E- r9 W, c
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books - Y n+ ~: W) g! J8 q; n- m) a
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 9 _! k7 Y' m6 q: Z0 c! ]
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
) O; B/ q# l! C7 m& u7 g- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-0 J9 v2 v! ^9 x. v8 x) C$ R
secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks . r" s! \0 e+ J9 i4 X7 w" X

" R% g1 ~) t$ h& r- k6 P- Strong organizational skills 4 g( F" |% w" i! i4 x
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; L( v2 b1 [. n6 d( {/ {* i# O- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ( K& d" p) D- J6 |& o# t
