FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ( @1 L3 a+ j7 \9 i5 q
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' b- i4 |6 q/ Bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 0 \, b5 ?3 e0 t: u4 H* C# {% K
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 x' P( n( x) ]/ c& gemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 d$ [5 X2 m- v% j0 cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 h! n) [. ]* {2 v9 Q& r* m7 h1 m' Z
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and . }1 D4 h( w6 E! n: H/ h
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - Y+ Q4 [0 D2 b, t2 A4 s3 W; n

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the Z1 [# F/ R. Y" T
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
/ X8 }5 F9 T% `4 Y; G3 E& Iwell as the script, magazine and book library. , V0 x9 S! L) _, f$ k+ C3 s
) ^7 M6 n* R8 j9 j$ C. iDuties:
) m7 L2 t0 S) b( ^6 z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
& g$ R; w: P. ?- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
$ x: l; f1 Y* U% }! ?& n- Implement a catalogue template for future use ! G* ^& Y/ S4 G4 `6 c
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
5 i8 n" ?1 l; K1 @- R5 X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 h8 D. N# w) Z

secondary training, university preferred

- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
