I have been going to Milan for 15 years, but there's something about its Bermuda shopping triangle that still turns me upside down and this time delivered me outside Ferragamo when I really wanted the Prada accessories store. Then the handle snapped on my Gucci shoe.

The only thing that was bearable was a pair of ridiculously pointy boots, made of black stretchy leather that clung to the calf. They made me feel like a superannuated suburban Morticia Addams,christian shoes, but I had to buy them. Even though this is a confession of my true awfulness, I still can't bear to tell how much I paid for these boots. Suffice to say it was too much.
