Job Description:

JOB FUNCTIONS:

* A+ n2 C, E, N, `• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

) r: r5 i4 X0 h# e5 J5 M9 r/ i• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

9 ^2 k( z( M2 f/ q) A9 o- r: `: _• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

, V! s# ]! n( r0 B- y) c0 V• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

% G# x* m. c: O; R* J$ }, y4 z• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

K0 b% T8 V/ V-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
