( c8 W& b. M9 ^; D4 F! k* |* v h# ^5 QAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

& T" [' R2 `1 F2 ?- _7 O1 R* EShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.. ~' p* X$ _- J# Y( L" A
( K* R) ` F$ lThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

" O& Y) z& l: U" ZA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. ( Z& }* s) K. i7 Z5 ?0 h- |& TRivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
