Dear Mr. Justin Trudeau,

I strongly suggest that our government extend the deadline of the resettlement of the 25,000 Syrian refugees, and that we conduct the refugee background check and screening thoroughly.

As we all know, on November 13, 2015, a terrorist attack in Paris has left over 132 innocent people dead, hundreds wounded, this has shocked everyone of us! What is more disturbing is that, more and more evidence surfaced, showing that some of the attackers came to the country with disguises as refugees -- and there's even a Syrian passport found beside the two suicide bombers!

This has left people like me getting more concerned over our government's decision to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees into Canada by the end of 2015. We believe this resettlement plan should not be dictated by certain dates, instead of allowing CIC officials take as such time as they need to properly handle every case.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm proud that I'm a Canadian, and that we Canadians are always willing to help those people who are less fortunate.

However, between now and the end of the year, we have only 45 days left. I'm very concerned, as I'm afraid by bringing in so many refugees within such a short period in a very rash manner, we might not be able to conduct adequate screening and background check of the refugees. I believe this will seriously compromise Canada's national security and our community safety. Even if 0.1% of the 25,000 self-claimed refugees turned out to be terrorists, that'd be too much!

What happened in Paris last weekend shall be a wake-up call for everyone! I hope Mr. Justin Trudeau can realize that, no matter how eager we are willing to help, we shall handle this issue in right way, we shall take responsible measures, to ensure the safety of Canadians, which I believe that is first priority of Canadian government as well as Prime minister, and then the refugees that we are to help!

extension of the deadline for accepting 25k refugees is a much more reasonable request than shutting the door completely.

I am saying: agree with the extension of deadline, but I can not agree with those suggesting (in other posts) shutting the door completely, ok?

Usually, for such a lengthy letter, I read only the tile, first and last sentences.

Mostly, those lengthy letter, in the same sentences, just different names, will be most proberbly ignored in email. Because just a copy-past task will be boring, to the person who read it.

If you want to be heared, maybe contact by mail with your signature, will be a more formal way.

Since day one, I ask for handle the refugee issue with cautions. Never said should we close the door. You assumed that is my request, and you said I am self-righteousness ?
