3 X* \% [$ j k+ KFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
& R# N V# g9 c# b* [7 n1 Nwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
* x( g! f2 X9 O' Z6 aartists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
5 E2 F3 G6 \3 }0 z' M# z/ ~- zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : r) \# \/ V- y- N! |2 G; i; ^
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 3 [/ r1 b9 h7 d! [

4 r1 N* `* N P; vJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
# ?8 ?7 T4 D3 B6 kDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 9 X" T' Y; ^6 o& D5 J
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 @6 {1 }. h4 a, [! ~8 M3 {0 E

Duties:
5 i- p& x, J- n* [& p+ B- Assist with research on acquisition grants
9 j- F1 {5 \! }! z$ i) o- d- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 9 H( ^/ L v1 C5 k U- e
- Assist with equipment maintenance
- S0 v2 U- U0 @. C7 }- Assist with production logistics for programming events
* s1 @0 r) A. \; w" F. a- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
+ C2 I* h4 b- W0 t' Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-% \# k0 ? q1 w2 k
secondary training

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks 1 {) x! a8 Z9 q: e- R2 p' w4 @6 L

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 R& w. N% g3 L! c1 `( P' b- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ' E. ~( m" n% B! m
- Strong team player abilities
