artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

4 Z% {1 Q4 n9 L$ |$ Gand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

) N7 V& H+ d0 B E$ O6 FJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 v4 E( r- O/ j$ n
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 [, Z6 W* X0 }6 S1 T2 f0 Zassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " O; w0 q$ l& O
7 h2 u* ]( q5 n6 Y9 o; @" W% oDuties:
2 ] \; q4 G3 O# }' i" u E5 A- Assist with research on acquisition grants / ?! m# G9 ]) d. _
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
( Y3 e% }8 U& l- Assist with equipment maintenance % {; \" x2 O4 z1 y, a. u
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
" X2 t) v4 z8 F" y6 `' H- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 6 p6 T7 P4 o2 x7 O, I$ [2 u
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-4 a, _1 J0 L9 R, k/ c
secondary training
* D# s$ g$ s! b4 S- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts . P0 ^/ A9 y; b! C
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* Z/ M1 {& b+ Y+ D, e6 p: t- Advance organizational and research skills
+ ~7 w. w. y7 o0 h! ?0 Z! ?. {& R6 L- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD # ? G7 @. c( Y- H' J
- Strong team player abilities " N' }4 z4 P- M* e; A/ m: A* F. o
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
