whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
# b3 r' s8 `0 u% Z! fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: j% x& i+ J& pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern : C6 @% j, R$ z/ k. {* X

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 H# i6 c5 U7 q- _8 z( ?
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by , w3 T+ h0 l% J& ], f5 n; x- {
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
% K3 o& [+ X6 V# z- Assist with research on acquisition grants , _9 Z& \3 o/ v8 V) o+ h
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 d" U+ [8 |( y/ i& l2 O9 ^
- Assist with equipment maintenance
" }3 c& T, n+ ~. U* ]- Assist with production logistics for programming events 1 D: z8 k1 Z8 z; ~# u' i4 ^$ v6 a4 F
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
2 _# q8 s4 [% ^4 |, @! {9 [) K, K/ D- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" l; e1 v" I# ?$ r9 H: j5 p) F
secondary training + J3 ~ ^2 {' F% ~0 r2 k
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 6 S1 G3 `" L4 O' H, N
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: $ ~5 r6 t8 c J5 }4 y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! c; I) E+ n! u* g& o D
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment - q; F2 G* R% ^- F
- Advance organizational and research skills
2 q: {' G$ W; [; n+ y, u" a- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
: P/ v# v# M& F0 R, C% L- Strong team player abilities & T( N& a& y1 M9 `% `2 y7 ~
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
