FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ) ^% x+ X N3 }) |+ h
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
' o, O+ L: q8 u/ u/ b9 _4 asupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

! H) C) ]5 d: C" t- ]FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

, B, w$ k; ]. ~8 V3 Rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * X8 |& e, @1 f: B
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 A1 i& T- j' w" U# L, B0 R G' aFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( u3 a# V7 k6 y+ }: H- H% c; M' hwell as the script, magazine and book library. ' ]! x8 {9 e, w% H9 I' D) T! B

Duties:
$ U2 I" _! J: C- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ( c& {# D8 f; y1 O! \; z0 _# I4 g2 n# m
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
; v1 p( a; N* X7 r- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 c: v6 x9 A% @. l. W' u- R5 b
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / G8 a& K9 R, R
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 3 e1 L& m0 b% Z* @ z" J

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-# A* V L" g- s9 l& s" v
secondary training, university preferred 0 s3 N% } {2 ^' f
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts . A" z5 ` Q5 j5 [7 |) G, }- I. f9 N
- Strong organizational skills

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
