FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the % P' _% l' S$ F6 [6 u5 G. T, ]$ P& _6 D
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
& F4 n1 [3 p" m! t) bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

# Z2 B/ n& w6 Z3 N$ O! [( V/ IFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& D+ E# u! w$ `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. R: l4 n4 G4 @. c( e, w4 g1 _# pscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern # d3 R6 k1 H* a: F% @* t

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 K& n e% b, |: T
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 4 ~7 J9 I& I, R
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
0 J9 b0 R7 d; a! z2 [: } @4 B- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
9 g. q0 W5 Q! `& L" F2 V7 T8 H- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
9 X) ~. H+ I+ H& |- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 ?( B( }! A2 V/ M! d3 _3 N. ?. ^4 g- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
7 i, g$ R g! U A# `5 D7 E3 `- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
5 I/ o0 S8 J8 r; I2 f- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
4 G+ }7 `) d3 O: h$ `- Strong organizational skills
8 x: q" h0 O# s; x- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
8 v: f @5 {1 N) F' A' |, \- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal @% h, G0 k: D2 j6 E, U
- Strong team player abilities
) ]. C: n0 A( y. l# e) e& \0 @- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
