. L: Y* ^. q* r0 ]) d1 }FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
1 Z/ n" v/ Z9 j1 G8 @Alberta.

1 V. ~9 @: p0 c3 Y( z2 S5 G: b6 T9 }FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 q1 m" s" B( @8 Mresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 A) C' x% k1 G. e0 |Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
( a0 L* j+ N, h; G3 z+ J" {1 c9 bFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
; }: J' D: _$ {; g" f3 I5 R- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
- K2 t. w$ C# F) `1 z3 Rsecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

( `4 y. @9 u( G* P* ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
