FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
& D! N* v2 N, L: E1 `3 A" Esummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to / ^! N9 B' k6 H$ |2 Z3 F9 z
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 3 p& ~8 a$ A3 F- X
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

" D+ h, ^! F5 aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

7 B( j# a2 T$ e. K% ]9 W, ^% SJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) }3 `& ?+ u% @# O, T) }" uFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
: o+ x. c+ Y8 }# d j) nwell as the script, magazine and book library.

' |( a3 v8 q) h6 `- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library " ?& L4 ?4 i/ f- |1 f! ?
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books + ~) P |* Q+ c- }$ J
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
6 j* j/ d% R0 ]- N$ }* M A/ P/ o# z- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
& ]* n P- e# ?2 z( G- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

2 r9 u& V% b# K- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
( y+ f! D2 g. j% N' f& {secondary training, university preferred - i+ m7 b2 L4 q8 h1 \; o- U* \
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Strong organizational skills & ~! t& L. i+ I/ U/ f
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
