Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.$ h" x9 {2 b4 Y3 _

Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck - }# M& ]2 i, E1 u* d3 r
For each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria
2 l8 m& J* y& c" xPrepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation
0 H: Q% F/ Q; W. K g; S3 sSteward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews; u0 s# Z' ~8 V3 i/ [
Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
# Y% H' d$ K: u5 s! lPrepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations 4 E$ X: v+ B1 P7 b" W
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology . {2 O O- X& M% W$ {
Prepare management of change for drilling programs as needed
: g% e1 e, Y; K6 }1 CCommunicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks# B- u) X2 j" }2 z8 ]+ u
Mentor junior staff

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA* x V/ w( ]( |- g& T/ s: w
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent, r' k" v# D4 O: _) w- Q& u
Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred- s& D7 V; K* V
Field supervisor experience will be an asset' Q; R2 ~5 P7 M6 \
