Drilling Engineer

3 i/ s" e' A$ UReporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.

4 C( d2 a( `5 z( @- q7 ^& M% N3 ZMust be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck
: E5 N+ {, D$ B! M& o1 \, rFor each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria6 e- H1 h5 o0 h7 R
Prepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation
) t$ ^3 o5 E$ rSteward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews5 Z; ^2 U6 ~1 ~% L9 o& I
Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
1 ^4 z, d( x- }4 _Prepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations : f6 L$ @" c) a% s3 [1 j' g
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology , H z3 K. ?, [; q$ x/ Y+ S6 @; J
Prepare management of change for drilling programs as needed+ J& \$ r( ]. y7 G5 `+ J7 l
Communicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks+ E2 n, f, A- e1 V2 y9 Z
Mentor junior staff. w% c" Q% }- D2 c3 `" {: N
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology# r/ L# e; v, J4 |4 r# Q" f9 O5 B

! G; U- `/ b7 E- Y4 J1 P1 }4 lThe preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA( r* p9 G9 x$ Z0 s; W. L
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent
, i' E6 W) c, b ^1 l/ Z/ `$ c- HService company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred
