Really want to save some gas money you may have to check the followings:
1. The thermostat settings. Set the temperature as low as you still feel ok. say 16 degree?
& k  L# y6 J6 e# J0 k) h7 S% Q2. Close the vents near the entrance door and garage door, vents in the bathrooms.  
* n# }% r, k) G% x; v3 B3. Check the on/off cycle of the furnace, and flame of the furnace to make sure the furnace burns efficiently . ( need a professional people to look after)
