Instead of a sales tax, we should look to a 10% cut in all government employee wages and a careful review of all government-funded projects. If this isn’t enough, then we should cut until it is. If a sales tax is imposed, all the government needs to do is tweak it higher if they want more cash. Responsible citizens elected these people because they showed promise;let’s say “no” to a sales tax and show we have faith in our leaders by giving them a chance to make the tough decisions to manage our economy.

But the premier had said that he could not fix the hole of $7 billion even if he fired all the government employees. Having all the employees who may draw from the public purse fired, then there would be no need to pay taxes at all. Right?

The impact of Ralph's cut is that a great number of government services were contracted out, and the government ends up paying more to buy those similar services at higher prices. The same thing happened to our gas and other utility bills. All the above said, there is inefficiency in the public sectors just as inefficiency can also be found in private sectors.

Watch out for this round of wage cut. I can anticipate that people will pay more user-based fees. For example, university tuition and fees will be going up.

我不反对加税，全国就alberta没有。地税也可以适当提高。

我跟你并无不同。想跟政府医疗的自然应该有权利继续跟。想跟私营的也应该有权利。竞争一下，民众受益。
