But the premier had said that he could not fix the hole of $7 billion even if he fired all the government employees. Having all the employees who may draw from the public purse fired, then there would be no need to pay taxes at all. Right?

The impact of Ralph's cut is that a great number of government services were contracted out, and the government ends up paying more to buy those similar services at higher prices. The same thing happened to our gas and other utility bills. All the above said, there is inefficiency in the public sectors just as inefficiency can also be found in private sectors.

Watch out for this round of wage cut. I can anticipate that people will pay more user-based fees. For example, university tuition and fees will be going up.

We will be in much better shape if health care can be privatized.

I kind of have to agree with your point that "we will be in much better shape if health care can be privatized" because I cannot find counter argument. Please try to make it happen. Also, don't forget to privatize education.

我不反对加税，全国就alberta没有。地税也可以适当提高。

我跟你并无不同。想跟政府医疗的自然应该有权利继续跟。想跟私营的也应该有权利。竞争一下，民众受益。

但现在的问题是政府医疗的人坚决反对任何私营竞争。因为他们知道自己没有竞争力。

错，跟有没有竞争力没半毛钱关系。私有化医疗系统绝对只是个政治问题，99%的加拿大人认为health care is an entitlement not a servive. Healthcare privatization is politically incorrect in canada and 永远是票房毒药。我倒是支持public and private mix, 在这方面alberta已经比其他省份走的远不少了，但你没看政客做事的时候还是半遮半掩的怕反对党炒作吗？
