EDMONTON — The West Edmonton Mall has reopened after police investigated a suspicious package Tuesday morning.

4 { |. u, N( S- A" ]! n1 nThe item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre.

: z8 S& o1 m& R! JPolice evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.
