The item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre." t( [: [$ s' m0 N
$ e* U% k5 s1 S. H$ F" QPolice evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.1 j* y2 J- [* r5 s: M" \+ E9 h
9 E9 ~4 w% f' q3 h" L( I0 Y3 i"I think we made a very measured response and dealt with the safely issues appropriately," said Staff Sgt. Steve Jones. "We just contained an area within the mall."
