FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
$ W) t! A. J# c- r$ zwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
+ m3 [( z5 B& f* G F) Kartists from Northern Alberta.

/ X& G4 \9 e: ^2 sFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 L# x, T2 ~4 D5 Y1 y/ j6 Hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" I# v* z( f! d: H1 U$ P: i3 X+ cand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 D% }' z, @- |. y Y" l8 c9 D7 k) W6 Sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. {' ]% V, u3 K4 \& Gscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

0 k: q2 i' b6 Q+ GDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
; z) T3 ?7 ]9 h7 y+ @4 aassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 7 ]* I1 y$ b N6 }* d) M) f

Duties: 8 Q& X0 D1 ~- ^2 l. l
- Assist with research on acquisition grants . @3 z; X9 {$ U3 K
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 2 l; I5 w: |6 q
- Assist with equipment maintenance
$ z6 F) ^) V0 l$ z: `4 _- Assist with production logistics for programming events
# m) \3 m% v& c$ Q5 h1 p- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
8 Z3 t( ^3 j8 o0 D+ C- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
+ D+ R; _+ h- W6 [6 [2 J1 p- Provide vacation relief

secondary training

/ w, s) {: T$ }) D0 ~* W- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ; x, a( ~* O6 n G
- Advance organizational and research skills
1 P. w ^9 P0 n/ {/ V2 z4 ?; U, w- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
+ w G2 \) @- [ C1 t/ k- Strong team player abilities + G; j" y9 G8 V% ~+ T$ u
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
