FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
4 G0 C. ^. l: ?1 ]6 @8 RAlberta.

9 v' k. {# L3 H! g- \FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 |! X# O& d1 lresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
5 U- w9 b9 g6 `# I8 p0 kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
5 B4 M" p- _% \! f$ q$ p$ I' EAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
3 L. W5 n4 h9 Z; A& h5 K# ]FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
; o* ?) N/ L; T2 b6 R) b4 A, ~well as the script, magazine and book library.

% V! B( [' q  I, Q4 E* I/ ADuties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
+ ^0 f6 s  k. `% x- I5 W/ h- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
, S4 ?  X( M3 \+ {  F- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Details:
- I: n& d6 m4 f( W, m6 B- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

/ `- O2 ?. P% n4 m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
