summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ; o, g( B) u6 t- s3 {& [
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
* R; o* X! R9 Q! E1 [: I7 nand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
3 c2 p- Y8 h' t' m8 H. Y. Fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
% C- {3 I5 Y" ~, B/ W; oscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

6 k6 i6 k/ o2 @5 h$ mJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the & y( r2 P5 p1 D3 e) I* N, \$ D
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as , [: ]. \) s( r4 I/ H
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: ' N% B" [# H' A/ U% a- z( ?6 d2 U: m
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
3 H. c8 m5 B% J. h) Q& c- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
4 L! H; ~' {4 k9 A, M2 f, V- w- Implement a catalogue template for future use
3 l* a+ g4 T' E- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! T- e$ J# q6 p: L0 r/ p4 s
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: & M9 n/ D6 V* A7 e7 d9 k
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 \! z$ ?) O" o( g( ?$ n) P* l- Strong organizational skills
( P @9 t6 u0 _* F$ N( p) y- Experience or training in library sciences preferred $ o8 b2 \) n$ T9 ~3 z9 V, k
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 r' z1 Y. Y2 M4 j7 O9 I

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors ! y5 B1 A3 w% r% L
