Position Overview  
3 ?1 z+ t, _" D9 W The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
+ B0 Q3 Q6 p- ]6 |" I! F( m  f -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
5 ?- s6 w1 Y/ w# V7 M-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;
-  Know and understand the Nexen Canadian Oil & Gas "Our Culture" statement;

Education/Experience  
& {! \" U# V' z% s' h* @ - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
4 R2 Z0 v5 u7 D* L-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
# n& ~5 K) |$ F+ |-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
8 T6 X1 D+ G$ e0 ~5 d; T: E2 v9 r-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
( j& L# @" Q$ ~8 ~4 S6 ?4 W9 y-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
