# J5 z' T9 {1 c8 M/ c/ ?8 D8 f We live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration. I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.- U; k' b5 J5 [$ ~7 W: W

To kick it off, here are my two cents. $ u4 U* j/ T* N( G/ z- ]
& q: G9 Q: g g |; I4 F3 _ We need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:

5 F; D& s% J3 L, D- sOption 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet. ) I E* t, X3 b
No on site child care available.

IF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.

5 J: d2 h5 e C- T- L, ] uOption 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
: J( ?5 }' m7 K- q5 y6 [9 U/ `7 c+ ^ Honestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements. 7 O5 `3 n( w9 y2 O3 G
