' z4 B4 |5 P. ]8 VThe Liberals’ first federal budget was released earlier this week, and in it $570-million dollars was allocated for Canada’s tourism sector.3 ]( ^# N$ f$ x

Royce Chwin, the CEO of Travel Alberta, tells the Alberta Morning News how some of that money will be spent right here in Alberta.

“$83.3-million, in terms of free admission for national parks, so that of course will apply here in Banff and Jasper as an example. It also looks like there’s an investment of about $66-million for new biking and walking trail within Jasper National Park.”/ O W9 u( ?3 } Z' h

Chwin adds that with the low Canadian dollar he expects we’ll see more Albertan’s traveling within our borders, rather than heading to the States.( W* T% o; b+ X# M" |, r/ p- D

“In terms of taking advantage of what’s here, we have made adjustments and improvements to the Canada website, from Travel Alberta. That’s going to show a number of itineraries and road trips throughout the province.
