No one was injured after a brush fire tore through a section of Edmonton's river valley on Friday night.; ?" U# L, a- I+ D5 O$ n1 B
The fire started around 11 p.m. near the Wolf Willow and Rio Terrace neighbourhoods in the west end of the city.
& C' r; @' ^( A$ Y' F" QEdmonton Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sarah Meffen said 17 fire trucks were called to fight the fire. It was declared under control at 1:20 a.m., and was officially out at 3:20 a.m.
. w2 z- o, j# X& t/ {* U3 VThe fire covered a large area of the ravine, Meffen said, but none of the nearby homes were evacuated.
