whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media + l1 B1 ]) Q- S" r. f! l
artists from Northern Alberta. + f1 p" |- s2 E7 d+ O
$ v2 h+ a+ D6 g g8 h, p# Q* ^FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' C2 t" O# Q. `) Kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : i, x" q @& w/ G3 ]& M- v! j& n
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 9 ]8 E8 l, c X! `3 x1 c; O
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 4 n) k$ a5 C; _) I' A9 @$ w8 d
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
. a6 Z" H! s4 [+ m0 C2 z6 mDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 U3 E* o g+ |% fassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
+ ?7 X$ R% c- s& q0 C- A. p. c) b# l- Assist with research on acquisition grants 9 x/ O9 v, R6 c; N
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
. E7 G$ f2 a$ B- Assist with equipment maintenance
{; k( A9 z! ?( ]% |8 l- Assist with production logistics for programming events
g. D0 B' I) I- W. R5 V- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! k `" [8 D% f5 H; R
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
' K7 E! ?6 J6 j2 X- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment . d; F! h, U/ L
- Advance organizational and research skills # @+ E. b& y0 X/ h; t
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 6 a) t2 f* k: p9 {! S
- Strong team player abilities $ ^+ K/ j0 {" b$ A
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
