FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
& ^( z* s4 X3 g7 vwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
3 P0 m1 `4 c5 @, aemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
; X. Y, r; b$ n0 U1 G: ?resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 W: U/ M& ?9 F! {, S4 m8 d3 Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
8 q9 w) A( \$ L9 NAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
7 L/ C" ?& _& I1 C5 l; Lassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
/ h3 g$ v! W2 P4 n- Assist with research on acquisition grants
3 u! V( p1 _; j6 T- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance
5 e8 @$ Q  S1 I: R# n  y: X- Assist with production logistics for programming events
8 P6 d6 D) |% R! s5 I/ c- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
  F8 J  y, G6 g( N8 C1 ?# p8 u- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment
Program (STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
9 |! E6 s2 y) Z- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
