8 w+ {  L2 L$ u1 @9 {2 q1 h& rFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
% s4 [, @3 v5 C: ~, k' V8 Yartists from Northern Alberta.

3 p6 H! [4 e( |8 dFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; @. Z' x/ J  `, Lemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 u  ~7 Y8 `3 J% j% y3 nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
4 Z: l$ N) P* m  O- nAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

# V3 I. ^6 r& w7 m  S5 y5 uDuties:
9 }2 a1 I5 ]$ b  P- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
) \/ \+ X7 s2 w( G/ e- Assist with equipment maintenance
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
. l& w: c% z" F" J6 h- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief
& M4 u3 e% a* W) d1 S- ?/ p$ a$ Y; }
Details:
- Funding for this position is partially provided by the Summer Temporary Employment
$ A6 `/ K0 H  f. B8 ^( `Program (STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
8 t* `. B' ?! k6 ^4 C- P/ x( J1 d4 t- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

  x' C/ G7 ~3 V9 h( R' k: v- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
