FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ h L: ?8 M4 L' e: N! ]; jsummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# j8 y5 o3 Y/ g3 u! o: ~+ j5 gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 3 L# W5 c5 j5 g) Z

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 8 R4 \" d* T: B2 i& [/ C7 f+ X
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % {8 P8 `" n) B! y1 F. F) S
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
7 S) E3 F! p3 a* Zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 0 w- l* E* L5 s7 \

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
9 p- m1 s7 q4 }7 p- _FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 7 n( N M) T0 d8 a
well as the script, magazine and book library. % x4 B( q0 s% A" U
, V& B, }* d& R9 WDuties: ! N9 Z$ g) @4 [# z7 K$ J* M
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 Z1 C# C3 m/ {- P5 x
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
' k" R$ H' @4 |; _- Implement a catalogue template for future use , h. a' e( C% T
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
( }. [' c3 J j- t2 X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& r5 w1 N, x3 L& P% J: |+ Asecondary training, university preferred / |$ `( V$ K9 O7 t, _, T' t% R
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week # X' K' N9 ^- s3 G! A
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks . A1 B: q) @: X# \# I$ u! o

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
' C/ D+ v( j4 o3 `$ V- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 8 U8 Y2 Z3 ?8 y0 O2 s) ^# m" [
- Strong organizational skills " t) G( i# v$ r/ E( y/ n% ?
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
