FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ! r* H( ]1 g3 ^# j u
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ) ~0 |% n& O0 V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
. G4 w4 |& W7 O* aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
5 I7 V/ D+ t9 ^% Nresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; k7 a y9 M6 `( t9 ]
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

2 s' \/ R: v T# B7 zJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
) y3 ~5 v' N8 P; n- SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
) h4 A+ f! S# Q W2 _well as the script, magazine and book library.
+ j! D$ m- Q$ L: n 0 v, t9 q, d% v1 l* L3 d G. [, B' q
Duties: / t; Z* P9 z$ z; Z4 A. E3 w
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
! Z5 o3 i- H- I% H5 j. B- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# B7 `5 J0 t( _5 \) q+ t- }- Implement a catalogue template for future use + f% c+ Y* a" A7 p" G* p
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
9 {* d( V0 r5 }/ @# ?! d- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ' V1 i: A- E3 \4 b0 }; F

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts # \" @7 ~6 ^1 |! a" q4 H. o& Z6 D; O
- Strong organizational skills
6 R/ Z* g' T/ [3 ]- Experience or training in library sciences preferred " D8 W& g. `1 [8 W- e7 d% Z
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
