1 Y. l- V( X: P" fFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
, O7 P2 b8 \6 lsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

( g( M$ w7 T% K) z# [( mFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 B5 A' g+ l- f1 q# d7 Vemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 U) i' J/ h6 T0 c  v, [5 s' ^/ band media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. Y$ J9 I$ F" r0 K$ ]7 Rscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
6 b7 X% y8 J; T" {! t$ TAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 R1 S6 J# W. y, z- e! b# sFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use

/ z' J% F+ {  t. [; F- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred
4 Q3 g/ G- u: A- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
! u) f8 ?0 b) d7 b& t- y$ u- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
