4 K; q. T) t' ?' C; J8 zFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
# r/ \- h9 i# t5 J2 W3 w# \summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) u3 o$ r, m+ j) U( Rsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
2 w0 O( n: c& l3 LAlberta.

2 `- Z" K6 C% Y9 H; r% kFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
; {( |& l6 D( h, ^" ^( ^emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
  c7 P( i! B: l& ^% W! l. Hscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
0 Q, _4 Z- U5 d! N6 HAlberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
6 t" z( q0 a+ d! o) A1 FFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
/ O7 R& b! o( v6 A0 O8 ~/ Z- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) T: {* q, [3 P* `- h# \- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

9 s( M% D* L. Z! m- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
1 m; f5 Y: H3 W. k) v3 ?3 ksecondary training, university preferred
% W3 L' m6 R  i' b! f4 K. G. Q% u. z- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
6 \! h) s6 w' T- R% t! B% }  A: f0 Z- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

! S, O& A" D; H/ s+ a( }- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
