ATV crash leaves woman dead, man presumed drowned

4 p/ I- e4 ]" N1 y1 T7 a3 eAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.% D, P/ F# A% y0 m6 U0 R' k# \
q7 R7 }% i! _4 I7 N9 mThe man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.( ^+ k4 o* V+ `4 N$ D
+ {$ ^0 A( v: A. @Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.
+ V# d7 r8 I, ^' K1 n# ~ u5 F, M- v; l6 M6 q
' j1 t& o- e0 y$ k) H. TA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
